2013 K9 Rescue Me Walk-a-thon

If you can take the time to collect pledges and walk with us on Sunday June 9, 2013 you will be helping the many dogs that need us.

Instructions to Register and Collect Pledges:

1. Go to http://www.k9rescueme.com/k9rescueme/Walk_A_Thon.html or click HERE to pre-register for the walk.  Be sure to choose 'Speaking of Dogs' in the 'Walking on Behalf of' list.

2. You will receive an email explaining how to collect pledges and what to do on the day of the walk.

Please note that we are very much encouraging our walkers to collect pledges online through the CanadaHelps web site.  Anyone pledging you, for any amount, through that web site will receive an email of their tax receipt almost immediately. Pledges made by cash/cheque must be $35 or more to receive a tax receipt, which will be mailed by the end of this year.  Collecting pledges online also helps you send your request to more friends, family, and co-workers.  Collecting pledges online from some people does not prevent you from collecting cash/cheque pledges from other people.

3. Click HERE to download and print a paper pledge form.  Even if you are collecting pledges online, you must fill out the pledge form with the names, donation amount, etc. of your donors.  You then put a check mark in the 'online' column of the form.

4.  Setting up your ONLINE PLEDGING:

• Visit the Website: http://www.canadahelps.org/  
• On the right side click on GIVING PAGES
• Mid-way down on the right side click CREATE A GIVING PAGE
• If you do not have a Canada Helps account – register with Canada Helps  
• Click CREATE A GIVING PAGE
• Complete your page info – ensure in the personal message mentions why you are walking  
• Under MESSAGE TO CHARITY – you MUST include - PLEDGE FOR WALKER (Your Name) WALKING ON BEHALF OF SPEAKING OF DOGS RESCUE so that your pledges are counted towards our rescue 
• Click SUBMIT 
• For BN # enter 810073544 RR0001 - this is the charity code for 'Rescue Me' (of which we are a member) 
• Use the link Canada Helps provides you with to send out to your friends/family to raise pledge money

5. Please email Kim at kim@speakingofdogs.com to advise her you are walking for us. This way we can let you know our plans on how we will meet up and walk as a team that day.

6. Start collecting your pledges for the dogs!

7. Go to the registration table on June 9th between 9am and 11am with your pledge form and any cash/cheques you collected.

8. Meet us at our booth June 9th just before 11am so that we can walk together!
